Happy Spring

Happy Spring, Dancers!

There are 4 items in this edition of Footnotes:

1. Tickets are on sale and available for Hollywood Dreams this weekend, April 8-10, at the St. Lawrence in Portland. Friday and Saturday @ 7:30 pm and matinees on Saturday and Sunday @ 2:00 pm.We have some amazing stuff this spring - many dances are movie based, with the music of John Williams paying homage to everything from Superman to Harry Potter to Star Wars. Oscar songs, a Spy movie medley ranging from James Bond to Mission Impossible to Austin Powers, and much much more. I hope you all will come out to support our dance company.
2. Vivid Motion needs performers for an April 23rd gig. We have been invited to perform a half-time show for Maine Roller Derby. It's their biggest bout of the year at 6pm at the Portland Expo - they are expecting a sold out house (750!), and I know we can make a great showing. I would like to have 20 dancers for at least one number. We're doing:

Cantina (from this Spring Show)
Love Rollercoaster Redux (same choreography set to Cee Lo Greene's 'Forget You')
Ruby Blue (dust off your hats, ladies!)
Start the Commotion (new choreography by lots of VM choreographers)

We're rehearsing: Saturdays April 16th & 23rd at Warren Memorial Library, from 9:30-11:30 am.
Wednesday nights, April 13th & 20th, at Acorn as part of the end of Company Class, so 7:00-9:00 pm.
Please contact me asap if you want to be a part of this exciting event.

3. REMINDER: NO COMPANY CLASS TONIGHT, APRIL 6TH; it's Tech Week.

4. Plans for our Summer show, Sleeping Beauty, are moving along. Auditions for Sleeping Beauty will be held on Sunday May 15th, 10:30 am -12:30 pm at Warren Memorial Library in Westbrook. Please contact me by April 11th if you are interested in choreographing.

Thanks, everyone! Hope to see you this weekend at the show.
